That’s it, the kids have broken up so summer is here!!
The last few weeks in classes we’ve been focusing on creating length in our spine (lower, middle, upper) whilst noticing the quality of our breath and the calmness of the mind (or not) in various poses.
Beach Yoga every Friday by Oval Field in Selsey (West Sussex) has been loads of fun. Come on over. 6pm £5. Kids come for free. See more info by clicking on the image below.
Also you’ve got the regular Beginners Yoga Tuesdays at 6pm Donnington and Yoga Flow Wednesdays 6.30pm Selsey to enjoy too.
New classes starting in September are the very exciting Mindful Mondays (pre-book to grab your spot). Each block of six week classes focuses on different areas of your everyday life that you may want to make positive changes to. Using different tools and techniques from Mindfulness, Psychotherapy, Buddhism, Life Coaching, Breathing and Hypnotherapy. Techniques that you take away with you each week (bring pen and paper). Helping you feel clearer and more in control of your world around you. After all, you created it. Click on the image below for more info.
Another New Class coming on Mondays in September is Yoga Fitness. A quick 45 min yoga workout class designed to get you fitter, stronger and more flexible. We will be sweating, burning calories, doing cardio, repetitions, yoga poses and building stronger core, legs and arm muscles.

Spaces are filling up for the Power Animal Workshop from 10am to 1pm on Sunday 29th April at Hunston Village Hall. Come to this exciting, fun workshop if you would like to go deeper into your yoga practice as well as explore the hidden world around us of power animals, energy as vibration, lower world meditation journeys, different realities, divination, animal yoga poses and more.
If you are feeling bored and drowsy, like Alice, you might like to explore a mystery world that awaits. Descending into another realm through a magical tunnel.

We’ve just got back from our beautiful Moroccan Beach Yoga Retreat. We were there for four days and nights. We bathed in the glorious sunshine, practiced sunrise and sunset yoga and meditation on beaches, rock formations and terraces. We had hammam’s and deep tissue massages, ate freshly caught fish on the beach, wandered the little market streets, hung out by the infinity pool, drank tea and coffee, gin & tonics, not to mention had daily feasts of Moroccan food prepared for us by the lovely Surf Maroc team.
Check out the retreat page for all the pictures and more details of what we got up to. I personally came away feeling more connected to my yoga practice. Generally feeling revived, stronger and more focused when I got back. Like having a stronger bond with yourself and nature.
The next beautiful Beach Yoga Retreat will be in the south of Spain (Almeria) around mid-April hopefully. 3 days and 3 nights for around £350 including flights, breakfast and dinner. If you’re interested please get in touch.

Here’s a free introduction to NLP Coaching with a Values Elicitation technique that I’ve been giving out in classes. I’m a certified NLP coach, helping people with their career, habits, confidence, relationships, stress-relief and self-esteem. More info.
In a few classes we’ve been doing Animal Spirit Guide card readings. Animal Spirit guides are spirit helpers in animal form who can provide guidance for questions we have about any aspect of our lives. More info.
The new Restorative Yin and Yoga Nidra class went really well. These will be every two months if you’d like some calming music, meditations and warmth as we move through a relaxed, stretching type of yin yoga class. Slowing down and mindfully practicing yoga. Targeting the deeper connective tissues. Giving our bodies the chance to open up and go deeper.. More info.

The new Pilates Yoga class at Donnington Parish Hall, West Sussex – Tuesdays 6pm has been going really well. Feel free to drop by and try a more gentle floor based practice. Lengthening and stretching all the major muscle groups in the body in a balanced fashion. Aiming to improve flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. More info.
We have a new monthly Restorative Yoga classes starting on Friday 1st of December 6.30pm – 8pm at St. Peter’s Church Hall, Selsey, West Sussex. I hope you’re healthy in mind and body as our part of the planet moves further from the sun and we get creative and focused with all that summer energy we’ve stored up.
At the beginning of classes sometimes we’ve practiced this mindfulness 5, 6, 7 breath to help keep us in the present moment.
Relaxing your whole body (lying down or comfortably seated) and tuning in to your breath. After a few moments of relaxing.. Begin by breathing in through the nose slowly for roughly 5 seconds.. Then holding our breath for 6 seconds.. Then gently exhaling out of the mouth for 7 seconds.. Carrying on with this for as long as you like. With every exhale we relax more and more.

Ultimate Pilates and Yoga Flow
I teamed up with Gaile Dean to share teaching a 90 minute class on the beach at Goring Gap, Worthing. We re-balanced the body through the core systems with 45 minutes of Ultimate Pilates followed by a cleansing Energy Flow yoga class with me. Tribal drumming to finish of course.. Here’s the time-lapse video. We’re planning a full moon class in November..
We moved the outdoor flow class indoors now with the season change. Now we’re in Hunston Village Hall on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. All of us nice and cosy with soft colourful lighting, aromatherapy (diffusers and massage oils) and a calming, flowing yoga practice.
Chichester Marina Yoga Event
A huge turn out for the LANO yoga taster yoga session in August. It only rained twice! Did you see the Screen On The Green video..?
There’s also been some regular seated yoga classes at Tenchley Manor Nursing Home and one to ones round people’s houses. One of those one to ones with Jen Barker (below) has grown into a three person class. We work on building strength and mobility for people who find it difficult moving around or walking unassisted.

This newsletter a bit of an energy download for you from our recent classes.
A nice thing in the last few classes has been a simple Buddhist meditation technique of focusing on your breath, each individual breath, it’s one breath and then it’s gone. We’re always having to begin again. You have to start over. A new breath. Being kind to ourselves with each new breath.
All our emotions and feelings that we attach ourselves to. We can let them go and just like our breath begin again.
I’ve filmed a couple of quick youtube videos in the last couple of months. An animal flow video for a few friends in Haywards Heath and a meditation soundcloud audio and youtube video for some friends in Selsey & Chichester. Although this Beach Video below takes it to a new level.
I’ve been waiting since May for everything to be perfect. For all the seaweed to wash away, for the storms to clear, the sun to come back and the tides to be right. Filmed with a long lens, canon camera and new microphone.
We’ve been doing some fluid movements and tuning into the energy inside and outside our bodies. Noticing the sounds around us, the wind against our skin and enjoying our connection to the earth and nature. Expanding and stretching out our awareness beyond our bodies..
This picture is of a sandbank that appears at low tide in Selsey. Maybe a giant heart shape (from below). Desert Island yoga anyone?
Lot’s of complete beginners have been coming along to classes with a few yogi’s coming out of retirement too. So thanks for all of your time and energy. Loads more interesting things to come in our future classes too like lotus breath meditations and lizard poses. Anything else you would like, please let me know.
